Songs and Stories for the Great Turning
Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 @ Manzanita School

Songs and the practice of singing together, are a vital tool for navigating our changing world. Songs help us to build a sense of connection and harmony with each other and the planet. They call forth our collective courage and passion, enliven us and inspire us to play our part in creating a life-sustaining society.  - Laurence Cole

Laurence Cole is a community activist who travels the world facilitating community healing and transformation through the power of song. Laurence is a deeply engaged member of the community in his hometown of Port Townsend, WA, where he is involved in various projects that seek to build social structures that are nourishing to both land and people.

At this event Laurence will share stories from his life and his involvement in some of these projects, which include the Pt. Townsend Ecovillage, community held rites of passage for youth, and Pt. Townsend's unique community Elder Council. Laurence will also share his masterful skill with songleading by guiding the audience through a series of songs that are easy to learn and sing in groups. No singing experience or expertise necessary!

Laurence will be joined for a song or two by his colleague Aimee Ringle, an accomplished musician and storyteller.
