SCHOOL OF LUNCH

Our entire community comes together each day for a nutritious and delicious lunch time meal. Our students engage in planting and cultivating herbs and vegetables for the recipes, as well as assisting with preparing lunch and cleaning up after each meal.

The communal act of eating together, nurturing our bodies and our minds, is critical to our holistic approach to learning and teaching.

Our nutrition program is led by Hilary Boynton, an internationally recognized holistic health counselor, chef, coach, professional educator, and author of the bestselling book, The Heal your Gut Cookbook.

THE LIVING CLASSROOM

A cornerstone of our educational program in the Trunk years (Middle School grades 6-8), is a twice weekly permaculture field program known as the Living Classroom. Here students engage in the rigorous work of tending to our organic farm and greenhouses alongside trained naturalists, as they learn about the plant cycle, composting, waste, ethical land stewardship, and the practices of sustainable and bio-dynamic food production. All grades spend some time in the Living Classroom and grow produce and herbs that are featured in our one-of-a-kind meal program.
